Renowned actor and environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio posted a plea on his social media accounts addressed to the Argentine National Congress, requesting the passage of the bill to create Ansenuza National Park and Reserve.<\/p>\n
DiCaprio, through his social media, urged the National Congress to consider the bill to move forward with the creation of Ansenuza National Park and Reserve, also emphasizing the global importance of this wetland.\nThis request joins those formally made days earlier by Natura International Argentina and Aves Argentinas.<\/p>\n
In August of that year, the Provincial Law was passed unanimously by the legislature of the province of C\u00f3rdoba.\nThe urgent request was for the preliminary approval of the National Law that would allow progress to be made in creating Ansenuza National Park and Reserve.\nHaving this protected area is vital to ensuring the conservation of the wetland formed by the Mar Chiquita lagoon and the Dulce River wetlands, a key site for global biodiversity conservation and one of the most important wetlands in Argentina.<\/p>\n
Lucila Castro, director of Natura International Argentina, stated: \"The creation of Ansenuza National Park will allow us to protect and develop, together with its local communities, one of the most important ecosystems in our country.\"<\/p>\n
To achieve the creation of the Park, it first needed approval from the Chamber of Deputies, and then from the Senate.<\/p>\n
In his request, DiCaprio emphasized the importance of collaborative work between local communities, the government of the province of C\u00f3rdoba, the National Parks Administration, the Argentine Ministry of the Environment, Aves Argentinas, the Wyss Foundation, Natura International Argentina, and Re:wild to achieve these ambitious goals.<\/p>\n
